Old lady in the house!

For Christmas Shelly gave me a Wonder Knitter, Japanese wool yarn, and some felt for "felting". Back when I rode the train into the city for work I learned to crochet. I made a scarf and that was it. I got a little motion sick and switched to a portable cd player to pass the time. Ah! I'm getting old. Anyway, I have seen the Wonder Knitter before but it never interested me. My mom can crochet and knit anything. She has made all my kids sweaters, blankets, booties, and so on. I love everything she makes them. I secretly have thought that anything past a scarf is an old lady thing to do. So tonight I got out my present because I knew it would just sit there if I didn't set out to try. Well, after some kind of confusing directions I got the hang of it. I don't know what I'll make, but I am SO proud of myself for not giving up. It's actually pretty easy.

Shelly also showed me how to "felt" with the second part of my gift. I haven't made anything yet with that yet. I might make a necklace. Like I need any more projects! O.K., well this old lady better get back to her knitting while everyone is still sleeping.

Ok old lady I can't wait to see what you make! Then you can show me how to do it! Not really, but I do want to see how it's done!
