Loving Projects

I love this time of year for so many reasons. Olivia turned in her Operation Christmas Child shoe box today. She was so excited to pick items for the box and even wanted to give away some of her personal toys. Olivia and her Daddy prayed over the box and for the little girl who is to receive it. We have participated in this ministry for the past three years. I have said in the past that I have wanted to pick up items to put in our box throughout the year. However, I have yet to remember to do that until Karen B comes around asking if we want to participate. I am hoping that blogging about it will help me to remember. Another little project that we have been participating in is making little cloth dolls for a ministry at our church. I had to take a picture of the doll I made today.



It has taken me all day to make just one doll. I had to stop so many times to take care of the boys and then to pick up Olivia from school. This is the third doll that I have made. This little doll is not perfect, but I am hoping that she will make a little girl very happy and loved. We have prayed for the girls that will receive these dolls. Olivia has helped with this project as well. She has helped to stuff the little arms and legs. Greg has too! I hope that the dolls are strong enough to withstand many hugs and kisses. Sweet Olivia fell in love with one of the dolls and wants to keep it so I have promised to make her one just like it when I finish with the ones that I have cut to make for church. At this time of year I am so thankful for opportunities to love others and to be able to do that as a family beyond our immediate community. The boys are too little to understand, but I know it won't be long before all five (eek! FIVE!) of us will be working as a family to love others.
